Weekend Plans

This weekend, my entire family (7 + Brian) will be making the three-hour trip to my grandparent's 50th anniversary celebration. They're renewing their vows and all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. will be there. This is our first official "we're engaged" kind of outing, so it should be interesting. Even though we're planning on not planning for a while longer, it's kind of exciting to be making our engagement official. Ooh...I'm getting butterflies as I'm typing.

We'll see how it goes... :)

In a really big nutshell...

Woo hoo!

Although I am newly engaged, I have been pouring over wedding planning websites and the like for as long as I can remember. Now that I'm engaged, I don't have to do it in private! (FYI I was one of those little girls who has been dreaming about her wedding since I could dream). I am so thrilled to be marrying Brian, the man of those dreams!

After obsessively reading wedding blog after wedding blog for so long, I realized that I hadn't read many (or any) blogs about brides-to-be like me. I'm a senior in college working as a Resident Assistant in the dorms - yes, I still live in dorms. Why? Because my job pays for my housing and I am a broke college student who absolutely, positively LOVES finding bargains! (And when I say bargains, I mean finding beautiful skirts for under $10 and scouring flea markets and thrift stores for vintage aqua Ball glass canning jars kind of bargains).

Yet more important than my being a broke almost-grad, my fiance and I are both Christians. We are committed to staying virgins until we are married. Yes, we're different from other couples, but I also know that there still are many brides in a similar situation. I'm broke, in college, and a virgin to top it off, but hey, I'm in love! That's good enough for me. :)
